CarHagglers
About Us
CarHagglers
are Neal Bircher and Patrick MacManus,
and our haggling adventures began back in the 1970s, when, as eleven-year-old
Gloucester schoolboys we began buying and selling old bicycles to make some
pocket money. The bicycles soon became motorbikes, then cars, personalised registration
numbers, and plenty of other things along the way.
Both
classic car fanatics, we pursued professional careers for many years (Neal in
IT, Patrick in Psychology), whilst continuing our "wheeler-dealing"
largely for fun. We came up with the idea of CarHagglers
in 2004 when, after haggling car prices for friends and colleagues, we realised
we had the basis of new and completely unique business!
Being a unique idea, CarHagglers
has attracted a lot of media interest, and we have appeared in a number of features,
including our performance of a live haggle in front of millions on Richard
Hammond's Five O'clock Show, on ITV in 2006, when we haggled a television
down from £1395 to £775!
We haggle because we enjoy it, and it always gives a great pleasure to save somebody lots of money, and make them very happy in the process! We would love to have the opportunity to make you very happy too!
